THE REAPER: SERIAL KILLING HIS WAY INTO DC's HEART?

Reaper.gif

October 11, 2005
WASHINGTON DC | POTOMAC PARK -- The mysterious vigilante known only as "the Reaper" killed four last night at Haines Point, including one police officer.
MPDC First District Commander Diane Groomes told the Washington Post that markings on the bodies and gaseous residue confirm that four bodies found in the area of the statue "The Awakening" in the early morning were victims of the Reaper, believed to be one of the Godlike, or Survivors. Although Commander Groomes declined to reveal the identities of the victims, she was able to confirm that while two were wearing known gang markings, one was a MPDC officer and the fourth was a civilian. This incident marks the first time that the Reaper is known to have assaulted those who were not actively committing crimes.
"An assault on anyone in the District is bad," said Groomes, "but when that assault is on not just a citizen but a public servant, the act is unconscionable. The Reaper will be brought to justice."

GODLIKE COUPLE TAKES LONG-DELAYED HONEYMOON

February 14, 2005
ANAHEIM, CA -- Keith and Lyn McCallum, of Boston, were married for fewer than 24 hours when their honeymoon flight, American Airlines 283, crashed on September 11, 2001. Four years later, like their fellow Godlike, they woke up and now trying to pick up the pieces of their lives. Their first step? Disneyland, and a honeymoon four years waiting. The Walt Disney Corporation rolled out the red carpet for the couple, giving them giving them free admission to the theme park and a free room for their week-long honeymoon, "to make up for the time they missed," said a spokesman for the company.
"It was like a fairytale," said Lyn, 24. "The rides, the characters, everything's just perfect there. It's exactly what we needed." Keith, 26, agreed. "For us, it's only been a few months since that flight, but so much has happened in the world; it's become a sort of scary place. It's nice to know that there's some place where you can still feel completely relaxed."
When asked if they had developed any "super powers," as had numerous other Godlike, the couple shared a smile and shook their heads. Keith said "No, and we're happy without them. We don't need anything fancy like that. We're just happy to know that we'll..." "Always have each other," said Lyn, finishing her husband's sentence. "That's all we'll ever need."

GODLIKE MARINE BIOLOGIST HAS FISHY FEELING

February 16, 2005
BOSTON, MA -- Four years ago, Shawn Cordova worked as an animal trainer and caretaker for the New England Aquarium, but his plane went down on September 11, 2001, as he was departing for a planned three week exchange with the Los Angeles Zoo. Believed dead, and actually comatose, until a month ago, Cordova is one of the Godlike and has been accepted back at his old job, but with a whole new set of skills.
"Schools of fish use body movement and pheremones to stay in formation, but they mostly rely on electrical impulses," Cordova says. "We're still trying to figure all of that out, but whatever wavelength they're broadcasting on, I can do the same thing." When he uses his new abilities, Cordova says, "It feels like there's a little buzz in the back of my brain, just under my ears, and then the fish move the way I want."
"Dolphins are different, though. They're much more complex, but fun, too - like little kids. They really do have a language, sort of. It's incredible. The things we can learn about our own brains by understanding the way mine communicates with theirs, it's incredible."'
