WORK IN PROGRESS

Overview

This page is a Lore Sheet for the 108 Forms of The Small Threading Hand Play, a set of Wushu Secrets that build on Eight Trigram Wushu, and focus on capture and countercapture, mastery of momentum and use of circular movements to channel your opponent.

These techniques can only be used for physical conflict.

The attack techniques on this Lore Sheer can only be used for close combat physical attacks. Normally, a practitioner must make unarmed attacks to benefit from this grappling fighting style, though at the GM's discretion certain weapons may be suited to grappling as well (such as hook swords, three part staves, fighting chains, etc.)

The defence techniques can only be used to defend against close combat physical attacks, though they are equally efficacious against weapon and unarmed attacks alike. They give no benefit against ranged attacks, however.

In order to use this Lore Sheet, you will need to introduce additional rules into your game: Grappling and Grapple Escapes. Anyone can use these two new fighting moves, regardless of whether they have learnt kung fu secrets from this sheet or not.

Grappling

When making a close combat physical attack unarmed or with a grappling melee weapon, an attacker can declare that he is making the attack a grapple.

If the attack hits and would normally deal damage, then it deals no damage. Instead for each point of damage, the attacker gains 1 point of capture advantage against the target.

Strike of Celestial Perfection

The classic movements of the Heavenly form are flawlessly executed, and heaven cannot be denied. All defences fall away, and none can deny the perfection of your technique.

Cost: 3 Yang Chi.

Effect: Your accuracy increases by twice your Heaven Trigram for this attack.

Counteract: If the target has a higher Earth trigram than your Heaven trigram, then the effect is automatically countered.

Furious Inner Power Technique

With angry fists and strikes filled with righteous loathing, you pummel foes into submission!

Cost: 2 Yang Chi.

Effect: Double the Power of your attack, after all other modifiers..

Counteract: If the target has a higher Water trigram than your Fire trigram, the effect is automatically countered.

No Shadow Strike

Your attacks move so fast, they leave no shadow. How swift thy blade!

Cost: 3 Yang Chi.

Special Activation: You can activate this technique after the attack is resolved. It does not have to be declared at the usual time.

Effect: Make an additional attack after this one. Any chi effects or powers applying to the previous attack do not apply to this new attack. Regardless of source, the maximum number of attacks you can make in one turn is equal to your Thunder Trigram.

Flow of Endless Movement

Your attacks naturally gather yang chi, thanks to their elegance and dynamism.

Cost: 0 Yang Chi.

Effect: For each dice that hits on this attack, gain 1 Yang Chi. The maximum amount of Yang Chi you can gain in a single turn from this technique is equal to your Wind Trigram.

Most Excellent Acceptance

You accept the attacks, and somehow they all miss you.

Cost: 3 Yin Chi.

Effect: Increase your Interference for this attack by two times your Earth trigram. Also, your Interference can reduce Accuracy to zero on this attack.

Rising Wave

You absorb the energy of strikes against you, and this empowers your Yin Chi.

Cost: None.

Effect: Gain Yin Chi equal to the Yang Chi the enemy expended this on this attack.

Limitation: No Combo Techniques.

The Mountain Does Not Move

It doesn’t matter if the enemy strikes you, you are not harmed.

Cost: 3 Yin Chi.

Effect: Increase your Absorption for this attack by two times your Mountain trigram. Also, your Absorption can reduce Power to zero for this attack.

Fading Mirage

They move to strike you, but you have gone by the time their attack lands.

Cost: 5 Yin Chi.

Effect: The attack misses.

Limitation: No Combo Techniques. No Channeling.
