Xia: Main Page -> Xia: Magic -> Xia: Tao Alchemy

"Powdered white jade as the energy base, essence of tiger's testicles to stimulate inner fire and the blood of a healthy ox for mountain's strength. Drink up before it congeals!"

Overview

This page is a Lore Sheet for Tao Alchemy, a set of Magics that allow the brewing of alchemical potions and reagents.

Note that by their nature, alchemical preparations don't last long, so Xia can't be hoarding vast stocks of potions. Instead the preparations must be used immediately, and will have effects of limited duration.

Heaven's Blade Blessing

Powdered jade or silver dust draws Heaven's gaze, and yang-chi aligned oils sharpen the edge.

Cost: None.

Keywords: Magic; Preparation;

Effect: This alchemical spell takes one hour to prepare and a further one hour to be applied, onto any edged weapon. That weapon is now strengthened and protected, and is guaranteed not to lose its edge or be destroyed in the next physical conflict it is part of.

Inner Fire Aphrodisiacs

The reduced powder of the sexual organs of potent animals, or the horns of powerful creatures, mixed with still-hot embers and the blood of a warrior. Potency guaranteed.

Cost: None.

Keywords: Magic; Preparation;

Effect: This alchemical spell takes one hour to prepare and must be consumed immediately. Women who drink the potion are unaffected, but men will find that they are filled with sexual energy and have powerful and sustained libido and "male stiffness". This effect lasts for six or seven hours, or until lusts are fully sated.

Healing Salves of Nourishing Earth

Honey, menstrual blood and dung draws in the nourishing power of Earth. Wounds close as yin chi restores health.

Cost: None.

Keywords: Magic; Preparation;

Effect: This alchemical spell takes one hour to prepare and a further one hour for the application to work, during which the wounded recipient must rest fully. Restore the target's Physical Resilience to its maximum.
