The statue of William Murdoch, first police commissioner of Atlantis, was said to be able to see criminals passing by, and that the eyes of the statue would follow them. The two malefactors being brought down to the station today didn't really have a chance to check. Several bills, as the police had been come to be known (after their illustrious first leader, who ironically had never been called Bill in his life) came out of the building, looking up as the hulking figure gently deposited two scruffy-looking men down in front of them. Then the huge man spoke, his voice a deep cultured baritone.

“These ruffians I caught attempting to abscond with the hard earned currency of a shopkeeper over on the corner of Benton and Smythe. They had not yet assaulted the man, but it seemed an inevitability when they became displeased with the amount he had given them. Luckily, I was on my morning constitutional and passed by, and was able to defuse the situation. The shopkeeper wishes quite hardily to press charges, and here,” and the huge man reached into his pocket and deftly removed a card that seemed tiny. “is my card, in case I am needed to speak on the good shopkeeper's behalf.” The bills just stared. Then another one came out, a grizzled sergeant. She saw the huge man and a wry grin appeared on her face.

“Hullo “Gentleman”. Getting' inta trouble again?”
