In acting, heroes change Creation and impact the lives of the people in it. The 36 Heavenly Spirits are those who've flocked loyally to our heroes' banner, while the 72 Earthly Fiends are those the Circle has encountered on more neutral, less conclusive terms.
The 36 Heavenly Spirits
- Cathak Nekuto [age 37]: A general of the Realm, convinced by Storm of Amber to train and lead the Circle's armies. Fire Aspect
- Chokhan Fifteenth Son Shatters the River [age 44 at death]: The father of Nameless Ravine; a stern and upright ghost whose legacy remains in thousands of masterful works of calligraphy. An Honored Shade
- Cynis Lachid and Layochi [age 22]: Immaculate-trained twins defeated in battle by Leaf Shakes the Wind and Song of the Silver Wind, quickly recruited to their cause. Water Aspect
- The Jokun: [age ?] The four jokun that serve as Rivers' guard and personal servitors. Earth Elementals
- Serrakeen [age ?]: An ifrit and tribal chieftain serving under the banner of the Circle. Fire Elemental
- Seven Thousand Wonders Unfolding [age ?]: Clerk of The Infinite City; mentor and broach for Rivers Between Us. Least God
- Sweet Voice of Brass and Glory [age 211]: Relay for the Flying Spears Brotherhood, formerly Eastern Captain of the Trumpets of War. Close ally to Storm of Amber. Lesser Goddess
- Vaults the Moon [age 6]: Storm of Amber's friend and spirit-tied pet; one of the Marukani Finest. Familiar
The 72 Earthly Fiends
- Alabaster Sunset [age ?]: A Lunar Exalt who has brought her tribe under the banner of the Circle. Full Moon
- Amilar Amaki [age 46]: Taizei (commander) of the First Ashigaru Talon, Second Wing, First Dragon of the First Field Force of the Seventh Legion. Stationed at Lookshy's Marukan Redoubt. Air Aspect
- Arin [age ?]: A raksha who has sworn himself and his tribe to the service of Storm of Amber.
- Hiparkes [age ?]: Stallion-Lord of the Plains. Patron of The Marukan Alliance, governor of horses and riders, ruler of the unity between man and steed. Greater God
- Othoclase [age ?]: Gemlord whose domain lies some forty miles to the east of the Plum Blossom Retreat. Earth Elemental
- Ten Thunders Shatter the Mountain [age ?]: Thunderbird of the east, once summoned by Rivers Between Us. Air Elemental
