The Dreamspire ∂

  • A constantly self-rearranging palace of colored glass and porcelain this manse is a masterpiece of art even in its truest appearance. But more than that it is a place of infinite illusions, tethered only to the imagination of the Hearthstone keeper and the manse's guardian, a powerful automaton of sophisticated Genesis-biothaumaturgy. Its twisted arrangement of rooms, corridors and decorations spell out koans and riddles designed to stimulate insight and finding one's way around requires either solving these or for someone attuned to it asking to be guided by the guardian. The Hearthstone's keeper of course has full control over the manse's transformations and can easily create a clear path.

The Denandsor Terminal ∂

  • This huge glass building in a square near the edge of Denandsor has stood empty even before the Great Contagion. Before the Usurpation the Terminal was a hub of activity it's crystal screens listing thousands of destinations across Creation. Citizens of Denandsor could purchase cheap travel to anywhere and normally catch a gate after an minimal wait.
  • During the Shogunate the only use for the Terminal was for military operations, the Gate of Auspicious Passage network allowing armies to be moved with ease between major cities for peacekeeping operations and Wyld hunts. By the end of the Low First Age not even that could be accomplished as the Dragonblooded lost understanding of how to maintain the gates. By the time the Great Contagion rolled around the Daimyo of Denandsor was under pressure to knock the building down.

Garden of Dreams

  • This slightly misnamed park has become just a legend, lost with whatever first age city it was originally sited in, resembles a beautiful outdoor art exhabit. Thousands of paintings and sculptures are set up throughout the garden each the gateway into a stored dream. Just a touch or a look and the laws that normally suspend such a thing fade and allow anyone to step into the exhibits. During the First Age and Shogunate the garden was open to all, the only cost imposed by the manse itself: A dream to add to its collection.

It was built by servants of the Great Maker during the Primordial War and adapted for use by other craftsman much later, after the adoption of the Great Geas. When Jadeborn craftsman deigned to visit the city they normally insisted on the use of this factory cathedral. After the Usurpation the factory still saw some use but the Dragonblooded only allowed the greatest of their craftsman within for fear of offending the Great Maker.

Denandsor Central Manse ∂

  • This is not the palace fortress in the middle of Denandsor which looks like a giant pagoda on top of a pyramid of white marble. It is the former Daiymo's palace in the centre of the city and was once the Palace of the city's Solar Overlord. For the moment and in the interests of keeping the circle from killing one another Ziyad Antarah has claimed it for himself.

Ebon Obsidian Redoubt ∂

  • This manse, claimed by Natalzu Chandra Dhiren, lies on the northwestern edge of Denandsor, and is a fragile-looking structure built entirely of thin walls of obsidian. Appearances are deceptive, however; the Earth essence flowing through the structure makes it impervious to physical damage. In the center of the mounting, concentric walls there is a great pillar , atop which is a turret bearing two medium implosion bows and one light implosion bow. At the base of the pillar there is a small hollow where an attuned character may find the hearthstone. The weaponry can be fired either by the manse itself using its automatic targeting system, or from the Central Manse.

The Smelters Heart ∂

  • In the heart of the Forge district of Denandsor sits this manse. In the first age a thousand men worked the machinery in here smelting many different types of ore and magical material and then sending the finished metal to the many craftsmen, workshops and factory cathedrals of the city. Today the plant is only just again operational and a fraction of that work force does the job, many of the originals were mortals trained to the highest levels of thaumaturgy and metallurgy, who worked besides the automatons of the day with vast swaths of equipment to protect them from the heat. Today those people have been replaced with half-trained savages who mostly rely on the automatons as they desperately learn their trade.
  • Hearthstone: Hearth's Fire

    • Atelier Manse: Craft(Fire) and Forge-related Thaumaturgy (4pts)

Fragrant Myrrh Retreat ∂

  • This manse is small and intimate. From the outside it appears to be a simple dome of red jade and smoky adamant, shrouded in thin clouds of sweet-smelling smoke. Inside, it is richly furnished and, from the explicit bas relief sculpture covering the walls, clearly intended as a romantic retreat. Unwavering candles shed soft light over the piled cushions and thick rugs, and the scent of incense fills the interior (unless the hearthstone bearer commands the air to clear). The kitchen can prepare wondrous meals unsupervised if given the proper ingredients, and there is a shrine to Venus on one corner. It has been claimed by Cerise.
  • Claimed by: Cerise
  • Hearthstone: Gem of Desire (Oadenol's Codex, pp. 93-94)

    • Temple to Venus (Oadenol's Codex, pp. 73-74)

••••

The House of Every Armament ∂

  • The fourth and final Factory Cathedral built in Denandsor, this factory was built just prior to the Usurpation by orders of the Solar Prince of the City. Determined to arm those in his dominion with the most lethal and modern of weapons he had this built with little in the consideration to modern geomancy, though even in the First Age it was fire aspected. In the First Age it was said that if it was a weapon then this factory cathedral could create it. When the Usurpation came many of the troops that came for him were armed with weapons built by this factory.
  • During the Shogunate the manse was redesigned to build weapons more in line with the times and to more importantly stabilise the manses geomancy. It still produced weapons of complexity and quality not seen in the Second Age.

Palace of Infinite Desire ∂

  • In the High First Age this grand building was a vast temple dedicated to the Unconquered Sun. But after the Usurpation the Shogunate redesigned those manses that recalled the rulers of the previous age. A militant Chosen of Serenity aligned with the Bronze Faction redesigned this manse to prove to the few remaining Solars free from the Jade Prison and their pathetic Lunar mates that their Patron and God truly had turned his back on them. She redesigned this temple as a vast whorehouse and brothel catering to the wealthiest crafters in the City. She desecrated the Temple in every way she could think of, including using the services of every being employed there in every room, just so when she next joined a Wyld Hunt she could truly twist a knife into their self-righteous souls.

The Denandsor Harmonious Fountain ∂

  • A complex 20 by 20 grid of programmed jets of water that act as fountain in the center of one of the cities more lively squares. This strange idea was thought up by some Twilight manse builder in the First Age and he made sure most cities contained at least one manse like this. Denandsor's is a particularly complex version of the theme, the patterns it is set to so complex and in places arcane it is difficult to tell what it is up to. It has been theorised the builder hid some secret within the pattern but thus far no savant has been able to tell what that secret is.

The Hub ∂

  • Halfway between the Central Palace and the Terminal lies a Great Oak Tree in a large grassy square fenced by marble streets and marble columned banisters. The tree has a set of naturally formed steps which work their way up high into the old tree, It is in the branches that the manse truly is. Filled with a variety of natural traps to those not authorised to be here this is a relatively dangerous manse to those who do not know its secret ways. At the centre lies of a room of great comfort with naturally occuring fruit and access to water, comfortable beds made of leaves and a great control room made of twisted wood and crystalised water. And deceptively it is from here that this Manse controls the connected manses known as the Network, along with their artefacts the Many Modes of Transport. The leaves can act as screens and lights to allow this place to work at all hours and the hearthstone like the manse allows steady passage through the most complicated of places.

Pagoda of Healing ∂

  • Comprised of a great tree subtly manipulated into forming a large wooded and paper Pagoda this was one of several such manses scattered throughout the City from the First Age. Those who were sick were brought to the place and examined by the doctors of the place who treated any ailment they had for little or no cost. Most are surrounded by a grove of Aspen trees, those too far gone for the Pagoda and her staff to heal end up buried under a new sapling. Those found in Denandsor today are full of bleached skeletons. Every bed full, unable to cope with the ferocity of the Contagion.

General

The Network ∂

  • This isn't really one manse, it is rather a series of 25 manses of the lowest rating scattered around the city. The actual type of manse tends to vary but all are Terrestrial Manses. Most take the form of statues or other features and monuments associated with their element and appear near major buildings and neighborhoods. This web network of manses is connected to the Denandsor Central Manse, the Terminal and the Manse which controls most of the Network: the Transport Hub. Each operates one major Artefact known as the Many Modes of Transport on set routes round the city. The Many Modes of Transport follow the Dragonlines between the various manses within the network and tend to complete a circuit once an hour. This of course makes both travelling and navigating the vast city much easier.

    • Network Node
      • Geomantic Relay
