Lindsey Baron; Lady of Vampires

CE Female Vampire (Gnome)

Wizard 5/Blood Magus 10

New Hotness "Evil" Lindsey[edit]

The moment she drank blood directly from a sentient source, her old self was all but washed away. She has become vicious and cruel, having no respect for the "cattle" and no foolish notions of "love" or "comradery". She'd sacrifice her own parents (if they were still alive) in exchange for greater power...or even if she just felt like it.

Lord Shadowspawn's transformation of her used the remains of the First Vampire, and she seems to have gained some of his powers, though not near to the extent he wielded them. Her first servant and partner, Sally Ravenclaw, has since met her end at Kael's hand, but Erandis D'Vol has offered her asylum with the Blood of Vol, even giving her Muffin as a new lackey. After the death of King Kaius, she has inherited his title as Lord (now Lady) of the Vampires. Unfortunately for her, this did not communicate all the knowledge of how to actually USE this new position, but she has already begun exploring the ins and outs of what it truly means to be Lady of Vampires.

She knows her old allies, especially Gortuck, will be after her, but she looks at this possibility with interest rather than dread. Gortuck has her interest especially as a target, because of "that big, sexy brain of his." She is currently learning the Blood of Vol's darkest secrets as Erandis' personal student, and in all likelihood will attempt to turn her now former lover into her first undead one.

Old And Busted "Good" Lindsey[edit]

A (very) distant scion of House Sivis, she bear no Mark, but has a talent for magic recognized even among her own people. She originally began her studies in the Library of Korranberg, but became disillusioned as a staff member when she was repeatedly passed over for promotions because of her lack of family connections. When her required four years of service to the library were up, she moved to Aundair and successfully earned a place in Arcanix.

It was here that she became fasinated with ice. Watching the crystals form and seeing how she could influence them was her favorite past time, and eventually inspired her thesis on the possible mechanics of Dragonshard formation.

As a young (for a Gnome) grad-student, she first met Cassius, Ethan, and Koram when Arcanix assigned her to join them and track down and either destroy or imprison Strahd Von Zharovich (see Minor Villains). Upon success, she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was later approached by House Sivis, but turned them down in light of a teaching job at Arcanix, which she left a few years ago to sate the curiosity and wanderlust building in her since her adventure.

When Thelia decided to give up Scavenging to aid The Watchmen, Lindsey followed suit, but has since retired from active duty. She now heads the sizable Library in Caer Shadowfast as well as teaches magic to members of the Watchmen than show interest. She tends towards lengthy expositions about whatever subject is at hand, given to anyone who will listen.

Outside of class, it's usually just Gortuck and anyone who couldn't think of a reason to leave. Somewhat suprisingly, she and Gortuck have struck up a relationship based on mutual attraction and a meeting of the intellects.

As Librarian for the Watchmen, she presides over one of the largest collections of rare and unique tomes outside of the Arcane Congress. This, combined with her knowledge, made her a target of Lord Shadowspawn. Through Suggestions and enchantments, he was able to get her to research Divine Sparks for him, most specifically who had them and how one could obtain them. Upon completion of this task, Shadowspawn wiped most of her memory of this deed, destroyed or removed the materials involved, and turned her into one of the Nosferatu. How he did so is unknown at the time, but there are indications that she was transformed in a manner similar to that of King Kaius.

After a close call with Gortuck when she awakened to the Blood Frenzy, she has managed to regain herself. How long she can hold out against the hunger is unknown, but the more important question is: How long does she want to? She knows she is now a monster and can't be trusted, and she may choose death over the more grizly options.

Hints for role playing: Think Luca from Crono Trigger, with the machine fascination replaced by magic (Ice in particular). Fun loving, retains the miscevious spirit of her race, and knowledgabe.
