Alanna

A minor member of the Fae community in Los Angeles. I suppose she's not actually an important non player character... but don't tell Redland Jack, okay?

Aran

A Chinese warlord with a stronghold in Sechuan, on a dry dusty plateau. There is a gate nearby.

Becker, Cecil

A reclusive industrialist in his 60s, based in London. He made his fortune expanding his family's business. He is a patron of the arts, collecting a number of works from the 1870s onwards. He has mentored a number of young artists, but has never met any of them face to face -- instead acting through his agent Edmund Handley. In the winter of 1931, he commissioned a series of sketches of Sandoy Island from archaeological illustrator Henrik Mueller. The reason for these has not been explained. Turns out he's not in his 60s, but he is actually an American by birth and is the brother of Colonel Ryan Becker.

Becker, Ryan

Colonel, U. S. Army. Becker is the Army's go-to guy responsible for defending against Outsider incursions on U.S. soil. Ryan is the brother of Cecil Becker, now residing in England.

Caine, Meridon

Meridon appears to be approximately 40 years old and lives in New York. She is a sort of lawyer to the Seelie. Although she often works closely with the Seelie, she has experienced a trauma at their hands, and her overall feeling on them could be classified as 'ambivalent'. She is smart, pretty, and wonderful (and kind... and to heck with Carl if he disagrees).

Colbert, Nolan

One of two survivors of the ill-fated 1903 Abydos Expedition. (Alexandria Stanton nee' Durrell being the other.) Existed for many years in a symbiotic relationship with the entity living at the center of Abydos. During which time he acted as judge, jury and executioner against cultists while working loosely with Pierre Farquell's organization. Eventually freed through the actions of Alexander Chase's people, he now currently resides in Kenosha, WI.

Coleman, Dacia (nee Neville)

Married to Lamont Coleman. Accomplished linguist and expert on ancient languages. Dacia also has the innate (and uncontrolled) ability to bend probabilities and reconnect them in the most unlikely of combinations.

Columbo, Jordayne (nee Piercy)

Born: June 3, 1896, Belmont Ohio
Died: January 19, 1932, Chicago, IL

Theater manager of the Golden West Theater in San Vieta, California during the infamous San Vieta Slasher murders of 1921. Dated Terrence Columbo pre-1920,and they eventually married in 1923. After birth of their son, her husband vanished and she had only sporadic contact with him.

Curtis, Charles (President)

Charles Curtis took office after Herbert Hoover died from contracting the Kansas City Influenza.

Dark Pharaoh

A cool guy who is Redland's close, personal friend. Or, possibly, a creepy, powerful Outsider who uses mortals as pawns for his own amusement... your pick. Frequently appears as an offputting middle-aged Egyptian-looking fellow.

Dellman, Randolph

Ostensible head of corporate operations for Penthius in New York. He met with Carl and company on March 15, 1932.

Donal

There are three copies of this guy hanging about, which is kind of interesting. Of course, two of the copies are dead, so now there is only one of him, which, I guess, makes him less interesting. He's associated, in some way, with Pentheus and the Principle of Aspiration.

Ellis, Julian (nee Foundry)

Carl Ellis' wife, and a member of the Foundry branch of the Island Families. Julian was one of the five young adults rescued from Eveling Industries near Madisonville, KY.

Eveling, Lawrence

Owner (in partnership with brother Jacob) of Eveling Industries in Madisonville, KY. Coal mining operation. Known to have worked with Goddard Islie and Frederick Marklin. (more details to be added.)

Eveling, Loren

Daughter of Lawrence Eveling, mother unknown. Loren was prepared and used as a vessel to house the awareness of The Progenitor - an Outside entity summoned into Madisonville, KY on April 19, 1929. Intervention by Carl Ellis and his people prevented a successful transference, and Loren later died, her own personality fragmented into madness.

Fagin,Peter

Originally a guard to the Romanov royal household under a different name, became obsessed with Hannalore Rhyner when their paths crossed in 1915. He spirited away Alexis Romanov from the house the Romanovs' were imprisoned in just before the family's murder. Taking the name of Peter Fagin when he became one of the Nightfolk, Fagin raised Alexis with the eventual goal of placing him on the Russian throne again. Fagin was the Nightfolk that passed the vampire contagion on to Hannelore Rhyner, and located Hannelore's half-sister Ineska. Fagin was killed by Maturin De Bonnevault in 1930.

Farquell, Pierre

Mystic and visionary, leader of a small and loosely organized group of people who fought against incursions of the Outside Gods, and countered the efforts of Goddard Islie's plans. Evidence indicates that Farquelle may have acquired the secret to unnaturally prolonging his life.

Grimaldi, Nicoletta (nee Usher)

Daughter (presumed adopted) of Roderick Usher, and as of 09/1932 direct in line to inherit leadership of the Seelie Court. Married to Antonio Grimaldi on Sept. 24, 1932.

Hamilton, Emma

Once a powerful member of the Enclave, she abandoned the Enclave and it's policies immediately after their civil war. Now an important member of the Seelie community, though she currently resides outside of it. Committed to, but not married to Theo Weiss, mother of Theo Weiss' daughter Sophia.

Baron Hauptmann (sp?)

A leader of the Brotherhood of the Beast, one of a handful of powerful sorcerors that run the organization. Summoner, spellcaster, and centuries-old body-jumper, he stays alive and young by stealing others' lives. He had been imprisoned in Tibet for a couple of years, but broke out sometime in early July, 1932, or thereabouts.

Hopewell, Evangline

The alternative choice for the principal of Salvation and leadership of the Fae society. She was visited by Jon Cromwell sometime just prior to the ritual that transformed Hannalore Rhyner. During that time there is evidence that she may have shared Communion with Cromwell. Evangline eventually came to the Lyon community, and became Companion to Jon Cromwell. After Jon Cromwell's death, Hannalore completed the rebirth into Fae Society of Mr. Steel, her companion, so that Evangeline would continue to be Companioned.

Currently Evangline and Steele remain in Lyon, managing the estate and holdings that were left to Hannalore Rhyner, upon Jon Cromwell's death.

Idrinya

Overall leader of the Alchemists in Russia. She's a turkey ... er, she hails from Turkey and is married to Alexi.

Ineska, Tsarina

Half-sister to Medea, she is married to Tsar Alexis.

Islie, Goddard (The Dark Man)

Leader of the group centered at the monastery in Trujillo, Spain. Unnaturally long-lived sorcerer and arch-enemy of Pierre Farquell and his people. Islie was destroyed in 1930 (?) and control of the Spanish faction was left in the hands of Theo Weiss. Currently the Spanish and the French groups work together in an uneasy alliance.

King, Hannibal

Private Investigator, originally located in Chicago, IL. King was eventually revealed to be one of the Nightsiders - or "The People" as they then termed themselves. King was instrumental in putting together the Nightsider Treaty with Carl Ellis, and played a early but pivotal part in the transfiguration of Hannalore Rhyner into the principal of Salvation -- and her subsequent elevation to leadership of the new Nightsider (Fae) society, and afterward Queen of The Seelie Court.

LaForge, Roger

Current leader of the Brotherhood of the Beast. Might be more of an interim leader, as it is believed that he is searching for Baron Hauptmann. Actually just a figurehead (apparently) as indicated by Prometheus.

Marissa Kazina

A young woman of Spanish descent living in Vienna, where she owned and operated a nightclub. She is the potential consort to the current King of Body, Auda Abbasi. She is a beautiful woman in her early thirties with dark hair, dark eyes, and a sharp business sense. She is from a decent middle-class family in the Balkans (Yugoslavia). She has a minor criminal record in Vienna for petty theft and disturbing the peace.

Henrik and Rebecca first met with her in early March 1932. She later met with Carl and company in July 1932 on the estate Chalon sur Saone in France, where they began to introduce her to the mystical state of the world. Plans for introducing her as a soldier and consort included:

  • Taste of Aqua vitae
  • Attending awakening of the land at Chalone
  • Amanda could help bolster Marissa's power in approx. 1.5-2 wks
  • Auda going with her to Tibet and working in the library

Milo (Tavernner?)

A crusty, old prospector, Milo's best friend, Annabelle (a mule), has the ability to 'sniff out' alchemical materials. He spends a reasonable amount of time in the deserts near Los Angeles.

Mueller, Rebecca (nee Hopkins)

A woman originally from Kentucky, looks like a blonde California girl in her early twenties, but with an attitude. She has a power of empathy that she was raised from an early age to use as a weapon. She is closely bonded to Auda Abbasi and is married to Henrik Mueller.

Parkhurst, Gregory, Dr.

A central figure in Medea's court in Los Angeles

Prometheus

An Outsider that was trapped by a group of Alchemists in Russia. Freed by Redland Jack, he is the Outsider most summoned by Redland. As far as Jack can tell, he is not a particularly powerful member of his kind. Jack names him Prometheus because he was found chained up and he hopes he will be a benefactor of mankind. Also, because Greek names sound cool.

Rasmul, Katyana aka Albina Gilman

Prior to her death, thought to be on track to becoming second in command of the group in Truillo Spain, under Goddard Islie. Dark sorcerer with many abilities tied to the worship of the Outside ones.

Reynard

She is the second most powerful member of the Unseelie Court.

Riswold, Jonathan

Confidant and right hand man to Pierre Farquelle, up until at least 1905. At some point during this time there was a clash of opinions, and Riswold parted company with Farquelle and his people. Currently living in Mexico, not far from the Texas/Mexico border.

Rhyner, Hannelore / also known as Medea

The Queen of the Fae, and the Principle of Salvation. Her birthday is October 19th. She is currently residing in Los Angeles, and she has set up a base where she is gathering most of her people (several hundred at least). Previously married to Henry Williams (deceased) and Theo Weiss (divorced).

Roth, Elaine

A member of the Island Families (of the Roth clan) who gave up her mystical connection to the families in order to help Carl against the Warlord Aran in China. She and Antonio Grimaldi have a son named Peter. According to residents in Bailey, she had left Bailey for parts unknown before the events in December 1931 where the village's pagan deity, The Lady, was re-imprisoned. At last report, as of May 1932, Elaine was in Japan.

Both Peter and Grace Turner whom he was left in Bailey with have since joined Elaine in Japan.

Roth, Miriam

Elaine's mother and a member of the Island Families (of the Roth clan), strong in the Roth ability of Empathy. The first of the Family members to break the code of silence and speak to an outsider (Carl Ellis) about the history and ties between the Family members.

Roxanne

A young woman, seeming age 18, with dark hair and of Armenian or Russian descent. She travelled for some time as companion to Boris Valenko. She was shy and stuck close to him.

Stanton, Alexandria Elyse (nee Durrell)

The Principle of Resurrection, whose whereabouts are unknown at present. She is the head of the "Children of Abydos", and her birthday is on August 19th. Once engaged to Antonio Grimaldi, now married to John Stanton.

Stevenson, Diana

Formerly a rising star in the Brotherhood of the Beast. Was known to be more interested in power than in the ideology of the organization. Her current whereabouts are unknown. Said by Prometheus to be one of the current leaders of the Brotherhood (along with Petter Varr and Ian McCullum).

Strickley, Laura

A candidate for the Principle of Aspiration. An aristocratic Englishwoman, she escaped from an insane asylum early in 1932. She believed/believes that she is living in the 1890s. She is currently recovering at the Wisphers Estate. According to the psychiatrist, Dr. Andrew Whitmore, she had been at the asylum for 4 years after a local constable had found her wandering by the beach. She believes that "Donal McTavish" is her godfather, whom she exchanged letters with overseas. (Investigated in Feb 13-16, 1932.)

Thompson, Maggie

Recruiter and operative for The Penthus Corporation.

Usher, Roderick

A powerful Nightsider who has designs on becoming the leader of the Fae. Originally house leader in the Enclave faction, since Medea's rise and the fall of the Enclave, he has allied himself with one of the Elders and became Consort to the Queen of Air and Darkness within the Seelie court. Usher was ambushed and killed through the machinations of Gottard Islie in summer of 1932.

Van der Vecken, Johann

Current leader of the Unseelie Court.

Varr, Petter

Said by Prometheus to be one of the current leaders of the Brotherhood (along with Diana Stevenson)

Yuri

'Practice' Leader of 'The Alchemists' in Russia. Based out of St. Petersburg. He's in his early 60s. He works closely with two other alchemists, Gregor and Chijiko (sp). They were all nice to Redland, so we can safely assume they're good guys.
